Follow the steps below for each platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a Backup File?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Backup File contains all your entries, moods, activities, and settings. You can export or import it back to Daylio, allowing you to manually back up your data or transfer it between Android and iOS devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Backup File vs. Automatic Cloud Backups<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Backup File needs to be exported manually via Advanced Options. Regular or automatic cloud backups cannot be used to transfer data to another platform. It&#8217;s advisable to use automatic cloud backups in addition to the Backup File for data safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transferring the Backup File<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ensure Daylio is updated to the latest version on both devices before proceeding. You may need to manually update the app via Google Play or the App Store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Android Export<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Daylio and tap <strong>More<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Backup &amp; Restore<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If prompted to choose an account, press back to close the dialog (this is for Google Drive backups, which are not used here).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the bottom and tap <strong>Advanced Options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap the <strong>Export<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Gmail or another email client. devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>File from Google Drive or Dropbox cannot be opened:<\/strong> Use an email service for the transfer and check that the file retains the <code>.daylio<\/code>
